The Arizona Center for the Book is hosting a series titled "Southwest Book Chats," which features recorded discussions with authors, librarians, and enthusiastic readers. The program seeks to promote reading and community involvement through engaging conversations about various literary works.

One highlighted book in the series is "Brave the Wild River: The Untold Story of Two Women Who Mapped the Botany of the Grand Canyon" by Melissa L. Sevigny. The book has received positive reviews, including a commendation from Peter Fish of the San Francisco Chronicle, who described it as "thrilling" and "expertly penned."

The discussions are accessible to the public and are streamed on the State of Arizona Research Library's YouTube channel. The episodes include selections from the Pima County Public Library's Southwest Books of the Year.
