AZDPS Engages Communities During National Night Out

Staff Report / tempelocal.org

In October, Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) personnel participated in National Night Out events in Sierra Vista and Camp Verde.

On October 1, staff from District 9, including Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Tucson Motors, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units, and trooper trainees attended the National Night Out at Veterans Memorial Park in Sierra Vista. They showcased various specialty vehicles and equipment, including a robot dog, and provided safety information to attendees.

On October 10, members from District 12, GIITEM, SWAT, and the Canine District joined the Camp Verde National Night Out event. They interacted with community members, allowing children to explore patrol cars and a SWAT BearCat, while also sharing important safety tips.

The events aim to enhance public awareness about criminal activity, support community anti-crime efforts, and improve relationships between law enforcement and the public.
