Teens Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop, Guns Found

TUCSON, AZ – Tucson Police reported that officers from the East side Community Response Team (CRT) were addressing violent crime near Broadway and Wilmot when a vehicle fled during a traffic stop. Quick coordination among officers led to the recovery of the vehicle shortly after.
Inside, police found four individuals, including two 17-year-olds. The teens had discarded loaded 10MM pistols equipped with extended magazines. Both 17-year-olds are now facing felony charges, including prohibited possession of firearms.
The Tucson Police Department emphasized its commitment to community safety and accountability for offenders.
