Officer John C. Walker Killed in Drug Investigation

On November 30, 1979, Officer John C. Walker, identified by badge number 150, was shot and killed while working on an undercover drug investigation at Tucson International Airport. At the time of the incident, he was in his vehicle. The assailant, Genaro Celaya, was apprehended shortly after the shooting and was found in possession of Officer Walker's flash roll. Genaro Celaya was convicted of murder and received a life sentence in prison.
