Maricopa groups issue Valentine's Day message to community
MARICOPA, Ariz. — The Greater Maricopa Business Alliance issued a Valentine’s Day message to the community, thanking the local businesses, families and leaders who make Maricopa a special place to live, work and grow.
It says support, collaboration and commitment to one another are what truly make the community thrive.
The message says people may celebrate with someone special, support a local business or share kindness with those around them, and it expresses the hope that the day is filled with love and connection.
“Here’s to building stronger businesses, stronger relationships, and a stronger Maricopa—together,” the release states.
The release is from the Greater Maricopa Business Alliance and the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, which serves western Pinal County.

Shooting on SR 88 near Apache Junction under investigation
Apache Junction, Ariz. — A suspect fired from a vehicle Thursday night on State Route 88 near milepost 203, injuring a woman with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds; no arrests have been made as the Arizona Department of Public Safety's Major Crimes District leads the ongoing investigation with help from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Apache Junction Police Department.

Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway Closed, Reopened After Crash
Maricopa, Ariz. — The Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway was closed in both directions between Hartman Road and White and Parker Road after a serious collision, then reopened at 1:43 p.m. as emergency responders remained on scene and drivers were urged to slow down and give emergency vehicles space, with motorists advised to use Honeycutt Road to reach Hartman and rejoin the highway.
