"Explore Sonoran Art at JCC Reception November 3"

Staff Report / Tucsonlocal.org

The Tucson Jewish Community Center (JCC) is hosting the opening reception of its latest fine art gallery show titled "Au Naturel" on Sunday, November 3, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. The exhibit will highlight the works of the Sonoran Plein Air Painters (SPAP), a collective of artists known for their landscape paintings created outdoors, or "en plein air."

The Sonoran Plein Air Painters mainly consist of artists based in Tucson, Arizona, with some from the surrounding regions. The group actively organizes paint-outs, providing artists with the opportunity to paint together and critique each other's work. SPAP also facilitates group exhibitions in Tucson and other areas in Arizona, showcasing the artworks of its members. The organization aims to connect plein air artists from across the country and around the world, focusing on the distinctive beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

The reception is free to attend and will feature a chance to connect with other art enthusiasts, enjoy light refreshments, and view various pieces from the Sonoran Plein Air Painters. For more information, visit tucsonjcc.org/culture-community.
