Arizona Task Force Seizes Firearms, Drugs and Cash
Arizona State Gang Task Force COAST squad officers conducted a buy-bust operation after a three‐month investigation. The operation began with the execution of three search warrants targeting firearms and narcotics traffickers.
Law enforcement officials seized 39 firearms, some of which were illegally modified for automatic fire, along with 9 pounds of cocaine, 2 pounds of marijuana, and 6 ounces of psilocybin. In addition, officers confiscated $13,700 in cash, body armor, ammunition, and 17 inert grenades that could be used as precursors for explosives.
Three suspects were booked into Maricopa County Jail and face multiple charges, including narcotics possession and sale, weapons misconduct, money laundering, illegal enterprise, trafficking stolen property, and dangerous drug possession.
Authorities emphasized that the items seized in the operation posed significant safety risks to the community. They also noted that the investigation is part of an ongoing effort to suppress criminal gangs and transnational crime in Arizona.
