Celebrating Diversity in Hispanic Heritage Month
Staff Report / Tucsonlocal.org
Hispanic Heritage Month is being celebrated from September 15 to October 15. In recognition of this month, Allie Ashman, a college mentor from the Mexican American Student Services Department of the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), delivered a presentation at Roskruge Bilingual Magnet K-8. During her talk, Ashman highlighted the rich diversity of Latino communities in the United States and around the world. She emphasized the importance of learning from the unique experiences and cultures of each other. This event is part of a broader initiative to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month within the Tucson community and specifically within TUSD.
